Teaching Younger Students to Master Learning Strategies
Teaching Younger Students to Master Learning Strategies. An alternative to re-teaching basic skills to students who have difficulties in school is to teach them how to learn. This involves teaching students Learning Strategies that positively influence all their work and encourage them to become independent learners. Research has shown that students as young as elementary age can learn how to learn. These students' success often depends on a teacher who uses certain instructional principles during a lesson. In this film, a real teacher demonstrates the five principles for teaching Learning Strategies to younger students and the techniques involved in each. Authors: F. Clark, D. Deshler, J. Schumaker, and F. Kline. ($25) (Order Form)
