The First Summer Program on Education and Career Exploration using Telementoring is implemented
NCCEP/GEAR UP established the Dr. Peter A. Dual International Fellowship Program

2009

Capital City School implemented Fusion Reading during the 2009-2010 school year
Sept. 18: the 1st Annual National GEAR UP day
The 10th Anniversary for Pathways to Success
Re-Launched the new and improved Pathways to Success web site
President Obama signed into law that the GEAR UP budget increase by $10 million
The goal was set to have 700 students participate in Telementoring during the 2008-2009 school year

2008

Anticipated that more than 600 students (9th & 10th grade cohort) will have participated in Telementoring during the 2008-2009 school year
NCCEP and Walden University established the GEAR UP Educator Scholarship

2007

Randy Sprick received the Gordon R. Alley Partnership Award from the Center for Research on Learning, in part for his collaboration with Pathways to Success
More than 500 students participated in Telementoring during the 2007-2008 school year

2006

1st Annual GEAR UP Parent Leadership Awards
NCCEP-Mexico established headquarters in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico

2005

Pathways to Success was implemented at all six middle schools during the 2005-2006 school year
The 3rd GEAR UP Grant awarded for Pathways to Success
The 1st Pathways to Success web site launched

2004

The 5th Anniversary for Pathways to Success
SBC Foundation awarded $5 million grant to NCCEP

2003

Pathways to Success was implemented in all six middle schools with Strategic Tutoring
Pathways to Success implemented the Strategic Instructional Method (SIM)

2002

Pathways to Success was implemented in all Topeka high schools during the 2002-2003 school year
the 2nd Kansas State School Improvement Grant was awarded to Pathways to Success

2001

At one middle school 100 out of 500 students applied for one of the 26 spots on the first Strategic Tutoring Pilot Study
Since 1999, 141 out of 183 teachers participated in utilizing Pathways to Success strategies and routines
The 1st Kansas State School Improvement Grant was awarded to Pathways to Success

2000

Pathways to Success was implemented in one additional middle school
The 2nd GEAR UP Grant was awarded to Pathways to Success

1999

The 1st GEAR UP Grant was awarded to Pathways to Success
International Telementor Program joined the Pathways to Success partnership
The University of Kansas administered three GEAR UP partnership grants

1998

Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP) was amended as Chapter 2 in the Title IV Higher Education Act of 1965 (P.L. 105-244)
GEAR UP was approved with a $75 million partnership grant for the 1999-2000 fiscal year
