Possible Selves
Possible Selves is a research-based personal development program (Cross & Markus, 1994; Markus & Nurius, 1986; Hock, Schumaker & Deshler, in press) enabling students to reflect on their hopes, expectations, and fears; create a personal mission statement; set long- and short-term goals; and continually explore ways in which they can expand, modify, or change their goals and the plans they develop for achieving them.
Telementoring
Telementoring provides students with a personal connection to a mentor, who is a professional working adult. Through online communication, mentors are able to make a personal connection between classroom learning and real-world application. These mentors are professional men and women who work for prominent medical and technology businesses.
Education and Career Planning Students who have limited awareness and experiences of the connection between education and economic success are in need to additional support. Education and Career Planning comes together with Possible Selves, Telementoring, and high school curriculum. Students are able to develop detailed, realistic, personal action plans for step by step progress toward the realization and the path in reaching their personal goals in academics and career.
