Rigorous, Accessible Education
Pathways to Success will facilitate lasting system change through Teacher-Guided Professional Development (TGPD), a proven model for translating research into practice (Knight, in prep.). Simply put, TGPD is a school improvement approach that makes it as easy as possible for teachers to learn about research-validated practices. TGPD positions teachers and professional development personnel as equals and employs a variety of simple, powerful professional development learning and process structures that enable teachers quickly to learn about and implement practices that respond directly to their needs. Pathways to Success will employ one full-time professional developer (referred to as an Instructional Collaborator) at each of the five schools (three middle schools and two senior high schools) served by this project.
