As part of the company's commitment to serving local communities Kohl's stores run a variety of scholarship programs that grant scholarships for college-bound high school students and for outstanding youth ages 6 -18 who are dedicated to charity and volunteering in their local communities. These awards are given at 3 levels: store winners, regional winners, and national winners.
The Kohl's Cares Scholarship Program, that used to be known as Kohl's Kids Who Care Scholarship Program, is one of the most well-known private scholarships for college. More than 37,000 applications have been received lately.
Kohl's department stores provide the scholarship for students of ages 6 - 12 and ages 13 - 18 who study in high school. This scholarship is awarded for outstanding community service during the last 12 months (March 15 2014 - March 15 2015).
Kohl's doesn't take into account academic achievement and financial needs of the applicant.
Do remember that the scholarship money may be used for 2 year, 4 year college or trade schools. Recipients must enroll in college or trade school within two years after graduation from high school.
